In 2006, OAO Novosibirskenergo continued its development as a dynamic and cost effective company with a high investment potential. The production and economic indices of the passed year were the highest in the history of the Novosibirsk power supply system. In addition, the Company successfully implemented several major investment projects.
For several years, the target for investment activity of the power supply company has been development of the network system. In 2006, Novosibirskenergo implemented a number of major projects, including replacement of an autotransformer at the Chulymskaya substation, reconstruction of the backbone facilities of the Vostochnaya substation, as well as of the 110kV lines in the sections of Vostochnaya-Teatralnaya and Oktyabrskaya-Teplovaya, etc.
Another large-scale project launched in 2006 implies improvement of the city heat supply system involving restoration of insulation and installation of circulating hot water lines, which will help completely eliminate serious heat losses. Over the last year, the state-of-the-art polyurethane foam insulation was used to cover the 31.5 km section of the heating main, and in 2007 this program will be continued.
Commissioning of the heating main in Promyshlennaya Street is yet another major investment project implemented in 2006. 2.4 kilometers of heat conduit was replaced, in consequence of which the pipe diameter was increased up to 800 mm. In addition, a water draining system meant for drawing off ground and waste water was installed. This heating main is of great social importance, as it provides heat to large residential areas, schools, day care centers, and hospitals. Implementation of major investment projects is a key to success of any business.
The required volume of repair work has been performed at power stations, heat and electrical networks in the framework of preparation for the 2006-2007 heating season. As a result, Novosibirskenergo obtained a winterization certification for the autumn/winter maximum load period on schedule.
However, it should be remembered that behind every success of the power supply company are the people. These positive results indicate that Novosibirskenergo can boast a team of real professionals, high caliber experts. Our company values its every employee. The important milestone of 2006 was adoption of a new Collective Agreement, which is a key document governing the relations between the employer and the personnel.
The performance results of 2006 suggest that we can look into the future with confidence. In 2007, the investment program of our company will continue to focus on the expansion of network facilities, since over the recent years the capacity of the power supply system has significantly increased and now we need to somehow deliver this power to the consumer. The planned major projects include completion of construction of the Teplovaya-2 substation, construction of the Frunzenskaya substation, reconstruction of the Bibliotechnaya and Olovozavodskaya substations, as well as construction of new and reconstruction of the existing but overloaded power transmission lines.
Further development of the Novosibirsk heating mains will comprise construction of interim booster station-10, reconstruction of the heating main in Krasina and Trikotazhnaya Streets, construction of the heating mains in Ordzhonikidze and Leskova Streets. Implementation of these projects will allow for stabilization of heat supply of the existing consumers and connection of the prospective loads of the right-bank districts.
The Company will also continue to pursue its social policies by providing reliable heat and power supply, improving investment attractiveness of the region, and guaranteeing decent labor conditions for its employees. These objectives highlight the strategic importance of OAO Novosibirskenergo in the social and economic life of the Novosibirsk region.
